NEWS RELEASE - Jackson County Sheriff's Office-Criminal Investigations Division
On October 11, 2016 law enforcement officials with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Brownstown Police Department executed a Search Warrant at the William Burrell residence in Medora, IN.
This Search Warrant stemmed from an eight month investigation led by Detective Ben Rudolph and Deputy Jeff Walters of the Sheriff's Office involving William Burrell dealing Methamphetamine.
Burrell was located at his residence and taken into custody after attempting to flee from law enforcement. During the search of Burrell and his property law enforcement officials located approximately 3.5 ounces of crystal Methamphetamine, three firearms, approximately $4300 in US Currency, and other items associated with the distribution of Methamphetamine.
Burrell (33) was subsequently arrested on three counts of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony, one count of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 Felony.
Burrell is currently held at the Jackson County Jail pending his initial hearing, with a bond set at $100,005.
The investigation is still ongoing, and other arrests and/or charges are anticipated to be filed with the Court.
