Animal Control

The Jackson County Dog Control Officer responds to calls for service, including nuisance complaints, animal bites, injured animals and animal cruelty.

One of our goals is to help reunite lost animals with their families. We keep a list of animals that are reported missing and those that are found in hopes of making a match. To make it easier for your pets to be returned should they get lost, be certain to keep current identification tags on them at all times.

The Animal Control Officer will also patrol designated areas locating animals in violation of animal regulation laws /ordinances. These duties involve: capturing dogs who bite, are vicious, diseased, loose or stray.

If you wish to report a nuisance dog or animal violation, contact the Jackson County Animal Control Officer at (812) 358-2141.
