On June 13, 2016 the Jackson County Sheriff's Department received a call of an
ATV accident that occurred on County Road 375 West next to the White River in
Driftwood Township.

Driftwood Township Fire Department, Jackson County EMS, and JCSD Deputies Rick Meyer and Jeff Walters were dispatched to the scene.

When units first arrived, the driver of the ATV, Justin Donnells 18 of Vallonia was unresponsive. Stat Flight Helicopter was dispatched to the scene.

By the time Justin was transferred to Stat Flight he was answering questions from emergency personal. Justin was flown to U of L Hospital.

Witnesses advised Justin just purchased the 1986 Honda 250R ATV earlier in the
day. It appeared he was traveling on a farm lane and entering a wooded area and
missed the lane in the woods striking a tree head on. Justin possibly hit his
head on the tree after his ATV struck the tree. 

Indiana Conservation Officer Nate Berry was called to the scene to do the final accident report.

The accident remains under investigation.
