Student Makes Threat

May 12, 2016 3:20 pm  Medora High School

It was reported that around seven minutes before the end of school on Thursday, Medora Senior student Willis Lee Weddell Abell, 18, told one of his Teachers he was upset and was going to leave School.

Abell stated that he intended to locate an AK-47 (rifle), come back to the School to shoot everyone he could and then shoot himself.

Deputy Jeff Walters responded to Medora and arrested Willis Lee Weddell Abell for Intimidation (a level 6 felony). Abell is being held in the Jackson County Jail without bond pending his initial hearing.

The case is still under investigation and additional charges could be filed.

Abell was suspended from the school until further notice.

Walters was assisted by Lt. Andy Wayman, and Deputies Rob Henley and Clint Burcham.
