NEWS RELEASE - Jackson County Sheriff's Department
On April 18, 2016 at approximately 11:45 PM Jackson County Deputy Rick Meyer saw a car stop along the roadway in the 5800 block of Base Road north of Brownstown. A person got out and walked toward some private gasoline storage tanks at a residence.
The person then came back to the car and left northbound on Base Road. Deputy Meyer made a traffic stop and identified the ocupants of the car as Kyle England, 33 of Freetown and Darrell Crow, 38 of Columbus. A gas can was located in the back seat of the vehicle.
Officers then went back to the Base Road home and determined with the homeowner that their gasoline storage tanks on the property had been tampered with. England and Crow were arrested for theft and possession of paraphernalia and are being held at the Jackson County Jail.
