JOB OPENING FOR NURSE JACKSON COUNTY JAIL REQUIREMENTS: Broad knowledge of medical needs for adults Certification to instruct First Aid and CPR courses Knowledge of accepted principles and practices of Nursing, with ability to effectively examine detainees, assess health needs and provide information, treatments, assistance, referrals as appropriate Knowledge of Standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation; must have strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to prepare medical records and maintain detailed files and charts as required Ability to effectively communicate with jail staff, personnel from other health-related agencies and families of detainees Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all department records and information Ability to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis Ability to follow all personnel policies and rules of the organization LICENSE/CERTIFICATION NEEDED: Graduate of accredited nurses training program and current licensing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana with at least one year experience, and current registration and accreditation requirements, or a licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Indiana with at least two years experience. Certification to instruct First Aid and CPR courses Starting Wage: $22.60/hr. after 6 months: $24.41/hr.
