Three Vehicle Accident

On December 1, 2017 at approximately 7:10 PM the Jackson County Sheriff's Department received a report of a personal injury accident near 774 North County Road 250 East.

One vehicle reportedly had left the scene and continued on County Road 250 East. Deputy Rick Meyer responded to the scene with Brownstown Officer John Long. Officer Long located the vehicle that fled at the intersection of County Road 25 North and County Road 250 East.

Meyer was told that the suspect vehicle had struck two other vehicles. The first was a 2010 Ford driven by Lori Sitterding of Brownstown. Lori had 3 passengers and her vehicle sustained minor damage to the drivers mirror.

The second vehicle struck was a 2018 Chevrolet being driven by Heidi Caffee, 40 of Brownstown. Heidi sustained minor injuries and was transported to Schneck Medical Center by Jackson County EMS for medical evaluation.

The suspect, David Greger, 52 of Brownstown had been driving a 2004 Chevrolet. Greger had left the scene and traveled approximately 1/2 a mile after the crash with one tire missing from his vehicle.

When Greger reached the intersection of County Road 25 North and County Road 250 East he lost control trying to turn his vehicle and it came to a stop off the roadway.

Greger's blood alcohol content was over the legal limit. Greger was remanded  to the Jackson County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, blood alcohol content of .15 % or greater, leaving the scene of an accident causing injury and leaving the scene of an accident.
