Deputy Cummings Celebrates 40 Years of Service

Sheriff Carothers, Deputy Cummings, Lt. Andy Wayman

Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy James R. “Bobby” Cummings recently retired after 40 years of Service. Deputy Cummings began his career in 1976 as a Special Deputy under Sheriff Harbaugh.

On July 16th, 1990 Sheriff Rorig hired Cummings as full-time Deputy Sheriff.

Cummings also served as a Detective under Sheriff Baughman, and has performed many other duties during his career.

Deputy Cummings was honored with an open house at the Sheriff’s Department on Thursday November 9th.

Bobby's Sheriff Family will miss seeing him on a daily basis, but we wish him a long and happy retirement.

Best wishes Deputy Cummings, and THANK YOU for your dedicated service to Jackson County!
