Robbery Suspect Caught

 James Edward Joseph Sizemore

Brownstown Police Officer Steve Scarlett responded to a report of an armed robbery at Huck’s Convenience Store in Brownstown early this morning just after Midnight. The suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money from an on-duty attendant. The suspect ended up fleeing the scene without cash or any items form the store.

Brownstown Police Officers, Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies and a Seymour Police K9 searched the area, but did not immediately locate the suspect.

After a review of store surveillance video, the suspect was identified as James Edward Joseph Sizemore. Sheriff’s Reserve Deputy Kevin Settle recognized Sizemore in the video, and was familiar with the location of his residence.

Settle and Sheriff’s Deputy Clint Burcham then went to the residence and arrested Sizemore. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail on preliminary charges of attempted armed robbery and pointing a firearm.

Also assisting were Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies Adam Nicholson and Mark Holt, off-duty Crothersville Officer J.L. McElfresh, and Brownstown Police Detective John Long.
